Everything must come to an end
It's the end of the term and I can finally let out a sigh of relief. The research paper killed me and I almost cried when the server kept messing up last tuesday. I was afraid I would'nt be able to turn my paper in. I was shocked that my paper received an A because I felt like I could have done better, but that's only because I sent the bar real high for myself. The advice I can offer to others about a scientific paper are to pick a good topic, construct a thesis statement that address the points you plan to discuss in your paper, and always remember to read your paper aloud. Those are three tips that I found very helpful to myself. I really enjoyed Comp II, it was nothing compared to my Comp I class.

Finally...
I am so happy to be done with my research paper. Since middle school, a researc paper seems to be my kryptonite. I am very tired because between taking care of my little girl until 5 in the morning then getting only two or three hours of sleep before I started working on my paper, took a lot out of me. I hope I do good on my paper though because I worked very hard on it. Next term I am taking 3 classes, boy that should be!
Other topics I would like to research are teen pregnancy and psychological behaviors of violent kids.

Almost There
Once when this coure is over I do plan to keep using my blog. I like using it, but I will probably create a different url and post my poems and thoughts on it. This research paper has continued to kick my butt & with my baby being sick, I am having an even harder time finishing it. I only have 2 pages to go, but it seems like a lot since I have to stop every 10 minutes and tend to my baby's need. Then on top of that I had a death in my family and I am also trying to cope with that.

Peer Reviews
The peer reviews were a good way for me to read my classmates' papers and tell them what they needed to work on. While writing our papers we get so use to what we wrote and read our paper so many times, we over look a lot of errors. I notice that when I read some of my peers papers they had small errors, either they misspelled a word or left out a punctuation. I didn't get any reviews on my paper and I was really hoping to get my classmates opinions and critiques on my paper. I will be sending my rough draft to the Writing Center, after I get the hang of this APA format. I am still shocked that I haven't fallen too far behind on my work because my little girl is a handle full.

It's Only the Beginning
Well for the past four out of six weeks, I was ready to have my child and able to stay ontop of my school. The last two weeks of these past six weeks have been exhausting. My internet was down and since I had a c section it was hard for me to get around. I couldn't take my little girl out with me to go to the library either. Luckily my parents were able to help out and watch her while I went to my aunt's house and did my work, but it still took a lot out of me because I still had my staples in. I am slowly on the road to recovery and should be back up to speed on my discussion board postings and assignment. I am still surprised that she slept long enough for me to atleast do my rough draft!

She is Here
hello everyone !
well I had my baby girl Monday at 10:55. that's why I wasn't able to attend seminar. I had been in labor and delivery since 11:18am, got induced at 1pm, and still didn't make any progression. that's why I had to have a c section. it was a great experience that words can't even describe to hear my little girl for the first time.

Still Counting...
So as of now, I am 38 weeks pregnant and still have no signs of labor or anything. The waiting is killing me, but I am doing everything I can to encourage things to move along. Plus I need to start on at least the first 3 pages of my research paper before she arrives because I know it will be difficult to get some down time once when she is here.
As far as my paper goes, I chose the topic childhood obesity. I chose this topic because it is growing rapidly and as technology becomes more advanced, people especially children are more likely to become sedentary. I understand that genetics do play a role in the bone structure and fat deposits a person may have, but becoming morbidly obese is preventable. Children need to learn good nutritional habits while in preschool or kindergarten because that's when they absorb things better. However, even if they have to learn afterwards, it is crucial that they learn this. I know my high school had a nutritional class, but nobody wanted to take it until they realized they got a chance to eat. Sometimes that's the only way you can convince people to do stuff is by bribing them.
Technology is the main reason why childhood obesity has increase so much. Watching TV, playing a video game, or being on the computer seems to interest a child more than going outside and playing for a little while. My next door neighbor and I use to play a game where we would hit a volleyball up against the wall, at the time it seemed fun, but now that I think about it the game was pretty silly. However it kept us moving and active.
