Still Counting...

So as of now, I am 38 weeks pregnant and still have no signs of labor or anything. The waiting is killing me, but I am doing everything I can to encourage things to move along. Plus I need to start on at least the first 3 pages of my research paper before she arrives because I know it will be difficult to get some down time once when she is here.

As far as my paper goes, I chose the topic childhood obesity. I chose this topic because it is growing rapidly and as technology becomes more advanced, people especially children are more likely to become sedentary. I understand that genetics do play a role in the bone structure and fat deposits a person may have, but becoming morbidly obese is preventable. Children need to learn good nutritional habits while in preschool or kindergarten because that's when they absorb things better. However, even if they have to learn afterwards, it is crucial that they learn this. I know my high school had a nutritional class, but nobody wanted to take it until they realized they got a chance to eat. Sometimes that's the only way you can convince people to do stuff is by bribing them.
Technology is the main reason why childhood obesity has increase so much. Watching TV, playing a video game, or being on the computer seems to interest a child more than going outside and playing for a little while. My next door neighbor and I use to play a game where we would hit a volleyball up against the wall, at the time it seemed fun, but now that I think about it the game was pretty silly. However it kept us moving and active.

Hi There (:

Hi There (:

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Gezelle, but I am known to most people as GiGi. I am 19 years old and am expecting a little girl very soon (I am 36 weeks and 4 days). I love using any form of art to express myself and I tend to gravitate to things that people would consider different. To me things like that are unique and need to be embraced. I have an open mind about everything, but I do voice my opinion an issue. I have been living in Huntsville, AL all of my life and there is nothing here to do...well if you're below the age of 25 there is nothing to do. My friends describe me as being lovable, caring, independent, dorky, goofy, random, and a dependable person.

Even though English has always been the subject I have excelled in, I am a little bit nervous about this class. I am getting ready to have a baby and she will need my attention all of the time. As of right now, I am trying to work on my research paper as much as I can now. In addition, I have always felt like I was the youngest person in all of my classes and that intimidates me, but motivates me to try a little bit harder. I am glad I chose to take online classes because it will give me that opportunity to be with child and not have to send her to daycare. I am not a big fan of daycares.
